Allison Russell
Consultant
Allison is a heritage and cultural organisations consultant with more than 25 years’ experience across museums, heritage places and community-based cultural programs. She has held senior leadership roles at the Botanic Gardens and State Herbarium, the National Trust of South Australia and the History Trust of South Australia.
Her work spans interpretation, community engagement, strategic planning, cultural tourism, exhibitions and public programming. Her approach is collaborative and practical, with a strong focus on local knowledge, lived experience and meaningful engagement.
Allison’s work has included community archaeology, digital storytelling, heritage tourism initiatives and large-scale cultural events. Her practice has also been shaped by Churchill Fellowship research into community engagement in museums.
On any Saturday
Saturday usually starts at the Central Market, stocking up on fresh produce and looking for inspiration. From there, Allison is happiest when she gets to spend the afternoon in the kitchen.
