Gosford CBD Heritage Interpretation Strategy

To interpret Gosford’s First Nations, cultural and built heritage, we created a unique series of heritage-themed experiences, installations, events and partnerships to drive urban renewal and growth for the town.

Gosford CBD is currently undergoing a period of major economic rejuvenation and growth. We used our expertise in social and economic capacity building to position heritage interpretation as a key driver of placemaking and urban renewal. Our work included heritage-inspired tourism products and experiences, art installations as well as models for business activation and community building. A key feature of our program was a Storytelling Toolkit, which showed local business owners how they could use Gosford’s heritage to in their commercial activities.

Our heritage-based placemaking initiatives for Gosford included:

  • The Gosford Storytelling Toolkit, which shows local business owners how to use Gosford’s heritage to promote their businesses.
  • A set of Playing Cards themed around Gosford’s history.
